Completed with a group of families

We used the Swimming Creatures last year with a group of several families. It was so fun doing it together, and the kids all LOVED it!

Future marine biologist

My marine biologist in-the-making begged to do science first today. He’s currently creating a shark to put inside his ocean box of all the models he has made so far this year. I absolutely LOVE how much Elijah loves science. School can be a struggle with him sometimes, but the Apologia curriculum is the one subject he never puts up a fight about. The beauty of homeschool is finding something your child is passionate about and tailoring your learning around it.

Great for kids who like hands-on science

My son and I are on our third Science program with apologia. We are doing Swimming Creatures. He has enjoyed the program and likes the experiments and the journal. This is a great program for children who enjoy hands-on science.

Hands down the best

My kids and I loved, loved, loved Zoology with Apologia! Hands down, the best, most comprehensive, but simple and fun curriculum.

Description

The Zoology 2 Junior Notebooking Journal pairs strategically with the Exploring Creation with Zoology 2 textbook. This Notebooking Journal will serve as your student’s individual notebook and the place for them to complete all of their assignments. Keeping a scientific notebook has always been a standard scientific practice. They will draw and record fascinating facts and information learned during each lesson, complete the notebooking assignments on specially designed templates, record experiments, activities and projects, complete vocabulary crossword puzzles, put together beautifully designed miniature books, and more!

What’s Inside?

  • Suggested Daily Schedule
  • Breakdown of daily assignments detailing exactly what needs to be done each day
  • Creative templates for completing the notebooking assignments
  • Fascinating Facts templates for your student to record what he or she learned in each lesson, using both words and illustrations
  • Scripture Copywork, including both print and cursive practice, is a valuable method for not only practicing handwriting but also memorizing Scripture and teaching spelling, grammar, and writing
  • Space to answer the On Your Own questions that are listed in each module which serve as review and prep for the tests
  • Space to record their results from hands-on activities
  • Creation Connection pages where students record their intellectual, emotional, and spiritual reactions to what they are learning
  • Field Trip Sheets your student can use to keep a record of field trips or outings enjoyed during his or her studies
  • A Final Review with fifty questions to be answered either orally or in writing to show off all your student remembers and knows about Zoology 2 Curriculm

The Benefits of Using a Junior Notebooking Journal

  • Facilitates retention and provides documentation of your student’s education.
  • Allows flexibility for multilevel learning. A twelve-year-old student may write an essay and make an elaborate illustration, while a six-year-old may write one sentence with a stick-figure drawing.
  • Engages students in the scientific process.
  • Improves writing skills and penmanship.
  • Gives your student a place where they can record and organize experiences and observations.

What’s the Difference Between the Regular Notebooking Journal and Junior Notebooking Journal?

This Junior Notebooking Journal is designed for younger students who are still developing basic writing skills and is recommended for grades K-3. The journal has easier crossword puzzles and activities, coloring pages, and primary writing lines.

The Regular Notebooking Journal for Exploring Creation with Zoology 2 is recommended for students in grades 3-6, or those who have mastered handwriting, can take notes, and enjoy upper elementary-level activities. The Regular Notebooking Journals include lengthy and technical vocabulary crosswords, What Do You Remember? written review questions, and a final review section. These features are not included in the Junior Notebooking Journals.

The Regular Notebooking Journal and Junior Notebooking Journal are designed to work together to help accommodate teaching multiple ages in your homeschool.
