Created to Worship

Ladd Lesh|July 13, 2023

All human beings worship something or someone. The question is: who or what will we worship? We know what our culture demands that we worship: ourselves.

In a speech at the World Economic Forum in 2018, Yuval Harari declared,

“All of life for four billion years, dinosaurs, tomatoes and humans were subject to the laws of natural selection, but this is now about to change. Science is replacing evolution by natural selection with evolution by intelligent design. Not the intelligent design of some god above the clouds, but our intelligent design and the intelligent design of our clouds, the IBM cloud, the Microsoft cloud- these are the new driving forces of evolution.”

It is clear in his statement what the object of worship is: Mankind. Our achievements and our knowledge. Our world seeks to reconstitute the tower of Babel while declaring our greatness and supremacy. Its end is futility and despair. Mankind was not created to be gods ourselves but to worship the one true God.

Created to Worship

Having been created in the image of God, male and female, we were created for a purpose – to find all satisfaction in the Triune God and to bring glory to His name in all that we do. From the Heavens, with its over 200 billion trillion stars, to the smallest molecular structures only visible under a microscope, all Creation declares His glory. Mankind is important, not because we are great, but because the God who created us is great and has put his imprint upon us. Everything that we do, whether it’s learning about His created order or training up our children in the Lord, everything is to bring Him glory and draw us into the worship of Him.

bring him glory

Here at Apologia, our mission is to help families learn, live and defend the Christian faith. With our science curriculum, we want your children to come away with an awe of their Creator and knowledge of how the created order works. We want to give them the tools to think rationally and maybe even go on to discover the next scientific breakthroughs of our time. In our Bible curriculum, we hope to point them to our great Redeemer and Savior, Jesus Christ. In our online courses, we instruct them on how to dialogue and think critically while expanding their love for God and His Word.

While the world calls your children to look inward for the answers, we direct them to someone outside of themselves, to the only one to whom worship is due: the Triune God, our Creator.
