  • Website Developer

    Contract Position with Opportunity for Full-Time

    Job Description

    We are seeking a remote WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL) and UI/UX aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is required. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment, is required.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and implement new website features and functionality
    • Make recommendations regarding the website’s architecture
    • Ensure high performance and optimization of the website
    • Manage all technical aspects of the CMS
    • Update the custom theme as needed
    • Update and troubleshooting plugins
    • Update product pages and website content as needed.
    • Assist with optimizing Google Shopping and Meta
    • Shopping Feeds and troubleshoot any issues or disapproved products
    • Assist with optimizing tracking and analytics settings
    • Set up integrations between the website and other 3rd party tech solutions

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Proficiency in building WordPress / WooCommerce websites
    • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
    • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
    • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
    • Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome Inspector, etc.
    • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
    • Ability to convert comprehensive layouts and wireframes into working WordPress templates and pages
    • Familiarity with utilizing RESTful APIs and working with data formats  such as JSON &  XML
    • Proficient understanding of utilizing GitHub for version control
    • Strong understanding of PHP, MySQL, and WordPress/WooCommerce hooks for back-end development
    • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
