J. Austin Powell

CFE, M.A. (PhD in progress)

Mr. Powell is an accomplished law enforcement professional with Senior-level policy advisory experience and skill in preparing testimony and/or official responses to Congress and personally providing testimony to a state-level General Assembly. He is recognized as an expert in policy development affecting worldwide operations of a Cabinet-level Federal law enforcement agency, to include writing portions of U.S. law signed by the President. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner’s Advisory Council.

Mr. Powell is a graduate of the University of Louisville Southern Police Institute Command Officer Development Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland; a Master of Arts from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary; and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy from Liberty University’s Helms School of Government.

When Mr. Powell is not operating in his government capacity, he is actively engaged at his church. He is also presently preparing himself for a call to full-time ministry.

He resides in Florida with his wife of 25 years, two daughters and their fluffy puppy, Finley. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and riding his bike around town.

He looks forward to engaging students at the crossroads of religion and politics.
