Position Overview
The Ecommerce Manager & SEO Strategist will oversee Apologia’s online storefront, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and optimized customer experience. This role combines ecommerce management, website optimization, and strategic SEO to increase organic traffic, improve conversions, and support the company’s mission of serving Christian homeschool families.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, data-driven, and passionate about creating exceptional online experiences that connect homeschool families to high-quality educational resources.
Key Responsibilities
E-commerce Management & Website Optimization
- Add new products to the website and manage existing product listings for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to drive performance goals and KPIs through strategic product presentation and promotion.
- Update and add website content, landing pages, and resources as needed.
- Identify opportunities for growth, including new product bundles, pricing strategies, and website enhancements.
- Analyze ecommerce KPIs (traffic, conversion rates, average order value, bounce rate, etc.) to improve site performance and inform decision-making.
- Liaise with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve any website or e-commerce-related issues.
- Set up and manage integrations between the website and third-party platforms, including marketing automation tools, CRM, and analytics systems.
- Assist with optimizing Google Shopping and Meta Shopping Feeds, including troubleshooting errors and managing disapproved products.
- Optimize tracking and analytics configurations to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
SEO & GEO Strategy
- Develop and execute SEO strategies (on-page, off-page, and technical) to increase organic visibility and drive qualified traffic.
- Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and GEO-targeted SEO initiatives to strengthen Apologia’s digital presence.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across content, blogs, and campaigns.
- Track, analyze, and report SEO performance metrics using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, Wincher, etc.).
- Stay up to date on SEO best practices, search algorithm updates, and ecommerce trends to proactively identify opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in ecommerce management, SEO, and digital marketing strategy.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI best practices, conversion optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar CMS).
- Experience with SEO and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Tag Manager, etc.).
- Familiarity with digital advertising and shopping feed platforms (Google Merchant Center, Meta Commerce Manager).
- Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- A passion for Christian education, homeschooling, and serving families through faith-based curriculum is highly valued.
