Cecelia Schmidt is a former homeschool and Apologia student. She holds a B.A. in English from Thomas Edison State University and an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Saved at four years old, Cecelia has been walking with the Lord ever since. Her life verse is Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Description

In Apologia’s Live Advanced English Literature class, students will read seven character-building books by Lamplighter Ministries. These books aim to strengthen students’ relationship with Christ as they study the Christian themes woven throughout each book and apply those truths to their lives. Students will also learn to think critically about story elements, such as characters, plots, and themes.

Prerequisites: None
Course Credit: One High School English Credit

Course Specifics

At the end of each book study, students will be required to write a 500-word essay. At the conclusion of each semester, students will take an exam to quiz their knowledge of the books studied.

All classes are video recorded and available for students to watch later so they don’t miss any instruction.
