J. Austin Powell is a retired law enforcement professional with nearly 30 years of service at both local and federal levels, where he held senior leadership and policy advisory roles. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and a doctoral-level Executive Certificate in Public Policy from Liberty University. He and his wife, Tricia, graduated both of their daughters through homeschooling and now teach for Apologia Live Classes. Austin mentors students in government, history, and forensic science and also speaks nationally on faith, resilience, and public service. Together, he and Tricia are passionate about equipping families with a biblical worldview.
