Know You Can Do This: The Encouragement Every Homeschooler Needs to Hear

Davis Carman|July 6, 2026

As we conclude this series, I want to leave you with one final truth—a piece of encouragement—that every homeschool parent needs to hear.

You Can, and You Should Homeschool

You can do this. Not because homeschooling is easy, or because you have all the answers, or your family is perfect. You can do this because God is faithful; He has entrusted these children to you, and He will provide what you need for the task He has called you to accomplish.

In fact, I would go one step further. You should do this.

For many Christian families, homeschooling provides an incredible opportunity to intentionally disciple children, strengthen family relationships, and shape a biblical worldview during some of the most formative years of life. While homeschooling is not the only way to educate a child, it remains one of the most effective ways to integrate faith, learning, and family into a unified mission.

Homeschooling is Worth Pursuing

Throughout this series, we’ve discussed knowing God, knowing yourself, knowing your children, understanding your objectives, and exploring your options. All of those things point to one conclusion: homeschooling is not merely possible—it is worth pursuing.

Will there be challenges, difficult days, and moments when you wonder if you’re doing enough? Absolutely. But that doesn’t change the fact that homeschooling can be one of the most rewarding experiences your family will ever share.

It’s Good for the Whole Family

It will be good for you, and it will be good—make that really good— for your children. Your children gain an advantage from having parents who know them deeply, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and tailor their education to meet their unique needs. They benefit from spending time with siblings, building strong family relationships, and learning within an environment where biblical truth is woven naturally into daily life.

But homeschooling doesn’t just shape children. It shapes parents, teaches patience, develops character, strengthens faith, and creates growth opportunities that many parents never anticipated. Along the way, God often does as much work in the hearts of mothers and fathers as He does in the hearts of their children.

It’s a Walk of Faith

At the end of the day, you cannot control every outcome, guarantee every result, or perfectly shape your children’s future. Only God can do that. That’s why homeschooling must always be approached as a walk of faith.

Too many parents place unrealistic pressure on themselves to produce perfect outcomes. Homeschooling was never intended to be an exercise in self-sufficiency. Your responsibility is faithfulness. His responsibility is the fruit. Plant the seeds, teach diligently, love deeply, pray consistently, and trust God with the results. It is an invitation to trust God day-by-day, lesson-by-lesson, and year-by-year.

The Time to Homeschool is Now

And if there was ever a time to homeschool, it is now. Our culture desperately needs young men and women who know the truth, love God, think critically, serve others, and stand courageously for their faith.

The opportunities before today’s homeschool families are extraordinary. Never before have parents had access to so many resources, support systems, and educational opportunities.

So if you’re considering homeschooling, take the next step. If you’re already homeschooling, stay the course. And if you’re feeling uncertain, remember what we’ve learned throughout this series:
