Description

This course is designed to introduce high school students to the essential principles of physics and provide a foundation for future collegiate studies. Physics is the study of matter, energy, space, and time, and how they all relate. In short, it is the study of how and why things in the universe work the way that they do. We will be studying things like motion, free fall, Newton’s laws, optics, electricity, and more.

Our course structure is designed to help you succeed. Each week, you’ll read the textbook and answer “On Your Own” problems before attending a 90-minute live lecture. During these sessions, we’ll explore some of the more nuanced points of the material, providing insights that will help you master the subject matter. During the year, your student will complete a total of 16 module exams, manually graded by the teacher, along with 3 formal lab reports. These reports will teach your student how to analyze data, explain results, and communicate scientific reasoning clearly. Outside of class, your student will be able to engage in the class discussion board or email the teacher with any questions they may have.

Course Specifics

This course is designed to supplement students’ independent study. Students are expected to read and work the problems in the textbook before coming to class. Lectures will explain concepts in the textbook, and students will be challenged to write formal laboratory reports.

This college-preparatory physics course is designed for students who have completed Algebra 1 and Geometry. Students should be comfortable manipulating an equation to solve for “x” and understand trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, and tangent) and the Pythagorean theorem prior to taking this course.

Recorded Classes

All classes are video recorded and available for students to watch later so they don’t miss any instruction.

International Students

We welcome international students from across the world. Please note that all classes are taught in the eastern time zone.
