Description

Embark on an exciting journey through Apologia’s Live Class: World History: A Journey Through HIS-Story, exploring history from Creation to modern-day events through a Christian perspective. This course provides a comprehensive look at the development of civilizations, the rise and fall of empires, and the pivotal events that have shaped the world. We will begin by examining how history is studied and recorded, including the methods of archaeology, dating techniques, and the significance of the written record. Along the way, we’ll uncover the hand of God in the unfolding of history, gaining a deeper understanding of His purpose and plan through the ages. This is more than a study of the past—it’s an opportunity to see how history informs our faith and shapes our future.

Discover world history as more than a sequence of events. In Apologia’s Live Class, World History: A Journey Through HIS-Story, students explore the rise and fall of civilizations from Creation to the modern era through a distinctly Christian worldview. This course examines not only what happened in history but why it happened by analyzing the ideas, beliefs, and worldviews that have shaped cultures, governments, and societies over time.

Students will engage with major historical eras, from early civilizations and classical antiquity to the Renaissance, Reformation, Enlightenment, and the modern world. Along the way, they will compare competing worldviews, including Biblical Christianity, paganism, Islam, and secular humanism, and consider how those worldviews influenced moral systems, political structures, and cultural outcomes.

Designed for motivated 9th–12th grade students, this course emphasizes critical thinking, discussion, and thoughtful analysis rather than rote memorization. Students will develop the ability to understand history in its broader cultural and spiritual context while strengthening their capacity to articulate a Biblical worldview.

This course prepares students not only for future studies in civics and government, but also to thoughtfully engage the world around them with wisdom, discernment, and faith.
