Michael Farris, CEO

Michael Farris, former chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association, is the president and CEO of Alliance Defending Freedom. He is a constitutional appellate litigator who has argued as lead counsel before the Supreme Court. He founded Patrick Henry College, where he taught constitutional law and coached the school’s Moot Court team to eight national championships. Education Week magazine named him one of the top 100 “Faces in Education” for the twentieth century. Michael and Vickie Farris have ten children and nineteen grandchildren.
